A study about Chinese overseas nationals in Scottish secondary schools is currently being conducted by Researcher Lexy Docwra at the University of Glasgow. Through this research, Lexy aims to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of studying in Scotland by current and former Chinese pupils. The research is surpervised by Professor Jane Duckett, Professor of Chinese and Comparative Politics at the University of Glasgow. The YCP is currently working with Lexy on developing an empirical understanding from Chinese professionals who graduated from Scottish secondary schools in the following areas:

* the experience of a group of former pupils;
* the reasons why they (and their parents) chose to come to school in Scotland;
* comparison with their school in China;
* whether the type of school makes a difference to their experience: single sex/mixed; rural/city;
* do male and female students perform differently;
* what did the school do to support them;
* what benefits do the Chinese pupils bring to the host school;
* does/did the experience have an impact on their future plans: e.g. where they go for HE

  and employment.
